RULES OF SALE
EXHIBITION AND SALE INFORMATION
The 2024 Prix de West Art Sale will open Saturday, June 8, at 5:30 p.m. at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Each attendee will receive a ballot book containing one ballot for each art piece in the exhibition. Each ballot book contains an assigned number registered to the purchaser of that ballot book.
Purchasers have until 6:30 p.m. to drop their signed and numbered ballot into boxes by the art they wish to purchase. At 6:30 p.m., each salesperson will draw three names and post them on a large card near each work. The printed art number on the drawn ballots must match the number of the art piece, and the name on the ballot must match the name registered to that ballot book number. The person whose name is posted first will have 30 minutes to claim the art from the salesperson and pick up the bill of sale. If the first individual has not claimed the art after 30 minutes, the second name becomes eligible to purchase the art for the next 20 minutes. When those 20 minutes expire, the third name becomes eligible to purchase the art for the next 10 minutes. For sculpture with multiple castings, the first name drawn receives the work on display. Additional names are drawn for remaining castings if available. Once the sale is confirmed, the seller will write SOLD on the large card. At 7:30 p.m., unsold art is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
ONLY THE PERSON WHOSE BALLOT BOOK NUMBER MATCHES THE NAME POSTED CAN PAY FOR THE ART. ALL ART PURCHASES REQUIRE PAYMENT IN FULL THE NIGHT OF THE SALE.
Checks are to be made payable to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards also are accepted, but will incur a fee of 3% on their total invoice.
*Please Note: Buyers shipping/picking up artwork in the state of Oklahoma must pay Oklahoma state and local sales tax (8.625%). Change in shipping address post-sale may result in additional sales tax fees at buyer’s expense. Sales tax exemptions must be presented at the time of purchase. Sales tax exemptions will be honored, and buyers must present proof of exemption at the time of purchase.
All art will remain on display until the close of the exhibition August 4, 2024, by which time each purchaser must have completed shipping arrangements with the shipping coordinator. Items will be shipped to the buyer according to agreed-upon arrangements.
